The Rift Among Us, by Carlos Benitez / 2017
I am an actress of many shades, tones, and colors. Ranging from the intense Blanche DuBoise from down South to the neurotic Pennsylvania cat lady who owns 14 cats to the revolutionary mistress of Pancho Villa in Mexico, I love performing live on stage as much as I love working on tv & film. As a 3 year old, I would sing ballads on my grandfather, Alfred Elwick's lap as he played the guitar. Most recently, I studied with the acclaimed Gwen Conley, and strengthened my diaphragmatic breathing to give my singing maximum potential. I have also directed talent shows, and "singing comedy" acts.
One of my favorite roles to portray was Shakespeare's Queen Titania in A Midsummer Night's Dream. I also recently was the narrator of a docudrama about hip-hop culture in the Bronx, New York during the 90's. It has been a sensational journey living my dream as a performing artist, and I look forward to working with other creative people each day.
Coming soon: "Fritz," my biographical screenplay.
Recreate yourself and let your inner artist shine with grace and transparent flare."
